Kelly + Wes | Camping Adventure Session in Los Padres National Forest
Oh, this world is crazy and I love it. I met Kelly + Wes last year in Big Sur when I messaged them out of the blue after seeing some photos they posted. We met up at Pfeiffer Beach for a fun wedding adventure session. Check it out HERE! We kept in touch throughout the year, as I moved from Calgary to Vancouver, as they adopted the cutest pup named Bruce (scroll down to see his permanently sad face!), and as I booked another trip to explore California! They invited me out camping in Los Padres National Forest, a trek that included driving through a military base, two river crossings in my rented Ford Fusion (oops!), and endless fields of wildflowers as far as the eye could see! Of course, we couldn’t meet up without planning another epic shoot which is how this camping adventure session came to be!
When we weren’t shooting, we spent the most amazing 24 hours playing in the creek with Bruce, exploring volcanic formations, endless rounds of Heads Up by the fire, and devouring the most amazing dutch oven black bean chili + cornbread made by Wes! A special shoutout goes out to Kelly’s brother, Robbie, who came along for the adventure! He’s a talented videographer, professional dog wrangler, and can strum a chord or two. 🙂
