Joe + Conor | Assiniboine Park Wedding at the Zoo

Most people hear ‘destination wedding’ and Winnipeg isn’t even close to being on their radar. Joe and Conor ignored the naysayers and invited 40 of their besties to celebrate the best of Winnipeg at their Assiniboine Park wedding. Conor’s family owns a cabin along Lake Winnipeg which made bringing their friends to Manitoba a meaningful and intentional choice.

It really was the quintessential Winnipeg day – including hair and makeup at the iconic Hotel Fort Garry, wedding party hangs at Upper Fort Garry, nibbles + drinks down on Waterfront at James Ave Pumphouse, a floral filled ceremony in the Leaf gardens, and a reception at Journey to Churchill at the zoo! Ya’ll – there were polar bears hanging about during cocktail hour. It was epic.

They also sourced some of my favorite Winnipeg wedding vendors, including Amanda Douglas Events, DJ Sir Charles, Made Beauty Co., EPH Apparel and Wedding Celebrant Colleen Olafson to name just a few. There were also bubble guns – but you’ll have to keep scrolling to see more.

I had so much fun hanging out with this supportive, caring, and welcoming crew – fingers crossed they’ll invite me to Hamilton for the next wedding in the group. Hint Hint. 😉
